In aid of the Vampire Benevolent Society

Welcome, welcome one and all. Thanks so much for making your way to the castle on such a stormy night. Please do come in where it's warm, myself and my family don't normally noticed the cold but we've had the heating put on especially for your visit, please let us know if you'd like it a little warmer. Oh don't mind little Hector his hiss really is worse than his bite.
Now if you'd like to just make your way up the stairs to the library.
Please feel free to browse the books, there are some very old volumes.

There are nibbles and drinks for everyone and my sister will be delighted to serve what you desire.
Now as you know this little soiree is in aid of the Vampire's Benevolent Society, such a worthy cause because as I'm sure you're all aware a Vampire isn't just for life but eternity and the costs do mount up so. My brother the Count will be joining us shortly and you ladies will be delighted to know he's the star prize of our charity auction later. He's certain to give the lucky winner an evening to remember. Now thought please make yourselves comfy and enjoy our hospitality, oh and if I could just remind everyone I'd be so grateful if they'd take a sign to display before they leave in aid of our new publicity campaign. Thank you for your time and...donations which will come later I'm sure.

I'd also like to give a big shout out to our Patron Holly's Horrorland
who's sponsoring this Annual Soiree for the 5th year running.
If you'd like to pay her site a visit you'll find details of all
the other fabulous people hosting their own little Vampire parties.

Vampire Soiree - The Midnight Vale girls get together

The girls of Midnight Vale were so excited to get the invite to
they could talk of nothing else for weeks.

Raven was thrilled to show off her new Black Rose tea set
and of course her faithful companion Mr Mo crow was at the table
though he seemed rather disappointed no eyeballs were on the
evenings menu, Raven promised to get him some later.

Though looking at the bottle Raven is hiding behind her back
I'm not sure it's strictly tea in the teapot.
Raven herself has her own special dietary brew.

Her friends was most appreciative of the 'tea' that Raven had done
They'd all come dressed in their finest attire,
though Scarlet preferred to keep her makeup natural and pale.
While Victoria paid great attention in making sure
her face was painted to her satisfaction.

The dollies of Midnight Vale would like to thank you kindly
for dropping in on their get together and hoped you liked your 'tea'
and they'd love to see you again soon.

Dollie origins
Scarlet and Victoria are from the lovely Vic of Cornish Dragon
Raven and Mr. Mo are by Debra Wade from Reta1etherapy
Black Rose tea set from Rhissanna

As an off the topic side note
I'd just like to point out it's rather
unnerving when your camera keeps warning
you it detects a blink while you are photographing dolls.

Vampire Soiree - A Vampires Garden

I’m imagining hobbies as being very important for all creatures of the living dead, after all eternal life could get very boring very quickly if one didn’t have something to keep them amused and an interest in continual life. What better hobby than gardening and it’s by no means beyond achievement for a vampire. Mother Nature has been most generous in providing plants that not only prefer to flower at night but also many that save their best scent for the evening hours.

A night garden can delight in sound and light effects, the trickling sound of water is just, if not more magical at night as in the daylight hours. Light coloured flowers and marble white statuary will reflect the moons rays and natures splashes of colour are not reserved for the day alone. Mystical and romantic or a shimmery of shadows to create an eerie atmosphere with intoxicating fragrances to dull and calm the senses of those foolish enough to trespass in the vampire’s garden.

The best scent of the Honeysuckle, Night Stocks and Jasmine are kept for the dwellers of the evening hours, others plants hold their beauty secret from those of the day.

Moon flowers bloom as the moonlight takes over from the sun, shielding their beauty and closing up tight when the sunlight touches their petals, a perfect plant for the vampire horticulturist.

Lilies such as the lovely moonlight white Casablanca Lily offers the night garden the most intoxicating of scents for the senses.

The Nottingham Catchfly, so called due to the profusion of these flowers that once covered the walls of Nottingham Castle, sadly all now lost from the place they got their name. It’s heady fragrance will grace the evening air.

Colour is not to be restricted either, water lilies such as the tropical Red Flare bring a  rich red bloom to dark waters, flowering at twilight along with the night loving bright yellow Evening Primrose for denizens of the night who love a splash of colour.

The wealthier vampire who may have a conservatory to enjoy the evening hours in, may well indulge in a passion for more exotic blooms such as the Dragon Fruit Flower from Mexico, a flower that reaches perfection at the midnight hours. The Brahma Kamal, named after the Hindu god Brahma may also be found in such a collection.

Those vampires who enjoy a sense of humor maybe amused to have some Bleeding Hearts or Angel Trumpets with their beauty and intoxicating fragrance a brilliant disguise of their poisonous nature.

Vampire Gift Stocking

This is what I made for a Stocking Swap on UKS. The person I was swapping with loved vampires and the Twilight films in particular, so I've made her a stocking with that in mind. I use black denim fabric for the stocking base and then put on some Twilight transfers and diamond affect stars. Hopeing she will like it. I didn't make the stocking too big so that it would fit in 12 x 12 box for posting hence I've had to put a few of the presents that wouldn't fit, in the box beside it.
